Klarus WL1 LED Work Light – 550 Lumens for Mechanics

Not a bad light, Was hoping the 18650 battery could be swapped out without taking the whole light apart. There are a series of screws so I'm assuming if the battery fails you can replace it. I haven't taken it apart to find out if the battery's soldered in. Without being able to swap out batteries it won't find a place in my toolbox. . It has a strong magnet at the base and a hook. The option for a steady or blinking red light is nice, probably good to leave in the car. Thankfully you don't have to cycle through a series of modes to get to the flood light.

Solid light very easy to operate, strong powerful magnet to hold the light in place . Fast charging, battery
lasted as described. I'm using it on repairs of heavy equipment , lots of oil and dirt . Cleaning with electrical connectors cleaner does the job. I'm very happy with this purchase, for much less $ than professional lights from brands.

This light works great for its size, dual purpose light great flood beam also can change the light color to red for emergency situations as a steady color or sos red flashes also light has a magnetic base.

This product works very for everyday use! The magnet is relatively strong. The user interface is a little confusing if you don’t keep the directions with you but the lumen output and different modes are very well thought out.

I used it in automotive. Better than Braun. Just as good as snap on, and Mac lights but way better price. Only downside is magnet could be stronger

This is the perfect work light. Its very well designed, its very bright, nice swivel any direction, molded handle to fit your hand. The magnet is very strong and holds on. I like everything about this work light.

Almost the perfect shop light, except it discharges in use too quickly. But the construction is definitelly what I was looking for - reliable magnetic base, rotating LED panel, very bright, can be externally powered while turned on, resistant to splashes. I use it in my machinning class on lathes and mills, where lighting conditions arent great.

Very small light

I had tried the 2pack of cheapo led lights, but one broke after a day. So I returned those to try this one. This one is much more well built, has “clicks” as it folds up and down, very bright with different brightness levels, and a nighttime “red” light. There is also 4 blue dot battery level lights that show you where you’re at. Overall very happy with this.

This had a bright light and is versatile but it’s very tiny.

Totally awesome product that you didn’t know you needed till you use it

The Klarus LED work light is everything that I’ve wanted in a compact portable light! Very bright in the highest setting! Construction seems solid. My premiere reason for purchasing this flashlight is in case of any roadside emergencies and for the unexpected tire change! All in all I’m very happy with the work light and would recommend it to anyone looking for a compact portable work light.

LOVE this light - it has so many features but I like that it is magnetic and a bright light. I use it in my garage.
It is flexible and has a warning light and a reading light and can hang on a hook AND no batteries - you just plug it in to recharge it and the charge lasts a long time.

These lights would be perfect if they were fully articulating. But they are not.

I needed a small light to work down into the driver’s side engine compartment. I had just enough room to mount the light vertically using the magnet, but you cannot rotate the lens clockwise to point the light toward the engine. In other words, with the base mounted vertically, I needed the lens to be at the 3 o’clock position (right angle to the base), pointing toward the engine. Not possible with these units. The light will be pointing away from the engine in this case.

Since I bought two of these, I removed the lens from one unit (three small screws hold it on), turned it around, and remounted it back to the base. Now I have a light that can point in one direction when it’s at a right angle to the base and another light that can point in the other direction. See picture. This makes the lights much more versatile for working in confined areas.

This light is perfect for my job doing maintenance and bright enough to see what im doing so far so good..

I'll start by saying Klarus makes great flashlights I have a couple in my possession so I was excited they ventured into the work light market. The build quality was great, the functionality of the COB light and end light were of Klarus quality as expected. Loved the mobility of the COB arm in its side to side movement and its up and down configurations. The red light and flashing red were a true bonus, but... My issues became apparent quickly first with the tail end magnet. It would not stay up on its own on a vertical surface it was weaker than other work lights I have and if using on say the fender of your vehicle it will slide down. Then we have the one button user interface which is common in the flashlight world, but in this offering it copies cheaper types of light. What I mean is you literally have to cycle through medium, high, low, red and then flashing red if you plan on changing brightness levels then wish to change again. It becomes tedious and annoying especially considering they have flashlights that use quick clicks or long clicks or even double clicks to navigate the different light outputs and colors. They could have used a quick button click, for instance, to turn on the flashlight a long click to turn on the COB bar and a double click to get to the red and blinky lights. The pricing is very competitive so maybe that was one way to keep costs down. Unfortunately that was a deal breaker for me and I returned it, pity too as it was so close to checking off all my boxes for a great work light.
So close, but yet so far for my uses....

I have a variety of klarus lights. Some great some just decent. This one is very good for what it is. I just wish the end point light was a bit brighter or they built some kind of focus on it. That aside I would buy another one of these. The bar light is fantastic for the size/weight/brightness/battery life.

Twist lens is a very useful feature I didn’t anticipate. Great battery life, fits in tight spaces… it’s my new “go to “ for most any car projects (or the carburetor work I did this afternoon on a snowblower).

Great light

I must of gotten a lemon. The light couldn't stay charged brand new out of the box. Klarus usually makes better products, but not this time.

This worked well for 4 months and then just stopped working! The paperwork read this flashlight has a one year warranty. I contacted their so called customer service department. They wouldn't repair my flashlight or replace it! We will NEVER buy a Klarus product again.

I have tried flashlights and other devices at work for light in dark places, none of them do the job as well as this. I work in a dirty industrial environment and my old light lasted 2 years before the switch started be difficult to turn on and off. I recharge it everyday after work for the next day. It has become my most valuable tool. You can mount the light to metal or use a hook and have many different angles to direct light . I will always buy this light since you can keep it in your pocket and for $30 a great deal.

Like the title says, have had and used for over a year with no problems. lights good, charges good, get about a week on a charge. use it every day for work. just buying another because i misplaced the other.

Everyone who has had one of these lamps will have their own experience, it worked very well for me and I am happy with its versatility.

small light on the tip stopped working unexpectedly not long after it was put into use

This light was perfect for what I needed. Magnet is strong and doesn’t release when bumped. The light is bright and reaches a good area. I like the ease of use and durability. One charge last me through about 5-6 hours of continuous use at the highest bright level. I will buy this light again if I find a way to ruin this one.

Bought this to replace old-fashioned plug-in trouble light. Should have done this years ago. Very easy to hang and adjust where you need the light. So far have only used it to work on connecting light fixtures in an otherwise dark basement. Plenty of light right where I needed it.
