Rechargeable battery questions
Can I use a 14500 in place of an AA?
Only if your light explicitly supports it. A 14500 is 3.7V against an AA at 1.5V, and putting one in an incompatible light can destroy it.
What does a protected cell mean?
A protected cell has a small circuit that guards against over-discharge, overcharge and short circuit. It is the safer choice for most users and is standard on the cells we stock.
How long do lithium-ion cells last?
Typically several hundred charge cycles before capacity drops noticeably. Storing them around half charge rather than full or empty extends their usable life.
Can I put these in checked luggage?
No. Loose lithium-ion cells must travel in carry-on baggage, in a case that prevents the terminals touching. Confirm the current rules with your airline.
