Choosing a rail-mounted light

• Rail type. These lights mount to 1913 Picatinny. If your handguard is M-LOK, add the adapter.
• Output. 600 to 1,000 lumens suits home defence distances; 2,100 to 3,300 lumens is for open ground and long identification distances.
• Laser or no laser. Models such as the Klarus GL2 and TrustFire GM23S pair the light with a green laser in one housing, saving rail space.
• Activation. Look for a tail switch you can reach without breaking your grip, or a foregrip design like the Klarus GL5.

Rail-mounted light questions

Will these fit an M-LOK handguard?

Not directly. M-LOK is a slot system, not a rail. Our M-LOK to Picatinny adapter adds a short section of rail so any of these lights can mount.

How much output do I need for home defence?

Around 600 to 1,000 lumens is plenty indoors. Very high output inside a small space creates significant reflected glare off walls.

Are they rated for recoil?

Yes. These are purpose-built weapon lights with recoil-rated mounts and electronics, not repurposed handhelds in a ring mount.
