  • Battery indicator — know when to charge
  • Tilt-adjustable head — direct beam where you need it
  • Strobe — emergency signaling

IP68 Waterproof Construction

Full submersion-rated waterproofing handles rain, sweat, river crossings, and extended wet conditions. The MT16 keeps working when conditions get rough.

Comfortable for Extended Wear

Adjustable headband and balanced weight distribution. Easy to wear for long shifts, hunts, or trail use.

Who the MT16 Is For

The MT16 is for users who want maximum versatility from a single light — hunters, campers, mechanics, hikers, and anyone who's tired of carrying both a headlamp and a flashlight. The detachable design solves a problem most headlamps don't address.

Backed by TrustFire's manufacturer warranty and our simple 30-day return policy.

Customers praised this rechargeable headlamp for being "super bright" and compact, with excellent value. However, concerns include battery life at high settings (often throttles down quickly), heating issues, inconsistent charging port magnets, and occasional reliability problems. Some customers reported defective units or durability issues.

Bright, compact, multi-function rechargeable light.

I have to start with the listing for this light. It mentions a side switch. There is no side switch. The lock is activated by double-pressing the top switch. Then there's the outdoor photo - no way that's this light - that photo is showing a 10K lumen light - not a 1K lumen light. Hey - 1K lumens is BRIGHT - but it's not going to white-wash the ground like that.

As for the light, it's far better than There's a few battery brands with "fire" in the name that give manufacturers a bad name - and it's easy to confuse "TrustFire" with them. But TrustFire actually makes decent batteries - and a decent light. It's not perfect, but it's soooooo close.

The magnets are not strong enough - the tail magnet allows the light to rock it's way down a vertical surface, and won't stick at all on fine mesh or a fine grate. The charger magnet falls off to easily - you have to take care when positioning the light and cable or the charger can drop off. But that's all I can really find wrong with the light.

The clip is heavy and wraps past the center of the light, so won't pop off. The threads on the tail are O-ring sealed and square-cut. The switch has an LED that indicates status. If the light is locked the light flashes twice. The tail cap has a small hole for a lanyard, but a standard key-ring or cable won't fit - included is a mini-key-ring that fits. The clip holds the light in place on a strap, belt or shirt.

The beam has a hot center and quick fall-off. If you look at photos 5 and 6 you can see the beam pattern. Photo 1 is at 4 feet, photo 2 is at 10 feet. The outdoor photos are high power. Beam throw is decent, but not 105 meters. I was able to light up a tree weakly at just over 125 feet away. Someone over 500 feet away can see the light if you wave it at them, but it's not going to light them up. On high it heats up pretty fast - you're only going to get a couple of minutes at max. The next level down is plenty bright for most uses - they say it's 200 lumens but looks more like 500 lumens.

The light is literally the size of my thumb, so it easy to EDC, shove in a purse or pocket, or toss in your go bag. It uses a 16340 (compatible with RCR123A) and charges in the light. A 3.7V RCR123A is also 3.7 volts and 650mAh - just a little shorter. A RCR123A fits perfectly - the tail cap spring is long enough.

If the magnets were stronger I'd give it 5 stars. It also includes an extra O-ring, lanyard and really nice headband.

warms up quickly

At first glance, could mistaken for olight. Based on color and magnetic charging port. I don't know if olight makes on this small though. This one is the perfect size for pocket carrying. The double curved clip provides two way carrying options.
Up until now, I carried a FOLOMOV EDC C2. Which is also a great size. But there are some pros and cons between the two.
This one, you can't hook to the bill on your ballcap and have it shine forward. The C2 you can. Though this clip is much stronger and holds better to the pocket.
This one has a weak magnetic base. The C2 has a strong pull
The magnetic connector on this is iffy. It will blink until it gets a good seat. The C2 has a micro usb port built into the battery. Also, it's easier to find a spare micro usb cable that it is to have a custom magnetic one. None of the other magnetic charging connectors that I have will fit this one.
Button placement and activation on this one works better. The C2 was prone to accidental discharge and there would be times that I'd go to use it and the battery would be drained.

Speaking of drain, I went to repair my washing machine drain hose and this worked great for shining a light down on the available work space. The angled head made it perfect for what I needed. The light pattern is wide and not focused. So it's suitable for looking around and not far.

One thing that should be warned about though, on the brightest setting, this little thing gets hot and it does that quickly. So be aware if you got it hanging and shining. It'll be hot to pick up.

Overall, there are some areas for improvement, but this is still a great little flashlight for every day utility.

nice little light, good for headlamp, handy size to carry

I collect flashlights and have about 100 or so. Many of them are Olights. This one is about the same size as my Olight H1R Nova. I have had the H1R Nova for a few years and use it very often. It has been one of my go-to lights.

I can't give this unit a 5-star review because it falls a little bit short of what I am used to. The magnet in the base is not strong enough in my opinion. Also, the magnetic charger is a bit finicky. The switch is also different from what I am used to and for me is a bit of a pain to use.

Ok, enough of my complaints. The magnetic charger is handy, even if finicky. The magnetic base will come in handy very often. The switch is easy to find and does its job. I like the color of the LED. For such a small package it does put out a very bright light. The light is the picture must have been touched up and enhanced. No way does it put out the amount of light shown. For its size it is impressive but not like they show you.

The headband is a very handy item to have.

Overall this is a pretty impressive light for the money. Can you spend more and get a better one? Yes, you can but for this price, you really can't go wrong. Maybe I am just jaded from all the other lights I have.

If you need a handy little light that does many jobs and you don't want to spend a lot of money then this is one that you should check out. These would make a nice gift.

Inaccurate claim of 1000 lumens for 65 min!

Just received this today! I was very excited to receive a high-powered headlamp rated at 1000 lumens for 65 min. Most other flashlights with this lumen output throttle down after just a few min so I was very impressed at the advertised run-time at the 1000 lumen level. Well, this one throttles down just like the others, in fact, sooner than my Olight Mini Baton. I have not tested out the run-times of the other levels yet, but I hope that they are more accurate. I emailed their support and they acknowledged that this does occur with this light. My question is why all of their claims on their website, product brochure, and Amazon listing all rate it at 65 min rather than 65 sec.! ThrustFire, please respond or correct/clarity your claims!

Good little light.

Best headlight I have had for far. I have had a few but there have always been compromises. This one has a nice wide bean, is easily adjustable, rechargeable, bright, has no stupid flashing mode.

not worth the money

Super bright light at an amazing price. The locking feature was a little annoying but once I got the light charged and figured it out this little thing is a beast of a light. Fast forward a month and a half and I accidentally dropped it onto a hardwood floor from sitting without clipping it inside my pocket and the charging port broke out so the only way I can charge the battery is with my external vape battery charger. I guess you get what you pay for. Would not recommend buying this light.

Greatly exceeded my expectations

Let me start by saying I'm not easily impressed and can be hard on my gear (first responder who does construction on the side). But this little light has gone above and beyond what I expected. Between the clip (attaching it to my shirt) and the magnetic tail cap, I have ended up using it for almost everything. It's been dropped on concrete, in mud, in water, and generally abused but it just keeps running. Worst case scenario I've just rinsed it off in the sink, dried it off, and it's ready to be recharged. I've recommended this light to several friends and coworkers who have been equally impressed. Due to its value, brightness, battery life, and ease of recharging I've purchased 2 more, 1 for my plate carrier and 1 for my bunker gear.

Plenty of light output

I use this light while doing electrical work, drywall repairs, and other tasks that require good lighting. It does a good job in lighting my immediate work area, but falls a tad short on battery life. While the various levels of light output are great, the life of the battery suffers drastically when using it on a higher level. I understand it requires more power for more output, but a bit more longevity would still be great.
Aside from the battery life, it does a great job. Light enough to not be a burden, the over-the-head strap helps to make it stay firmly in place, and not feel like a heavy weight on your head. the smallish size of the light makes it pretty convenient in tight spaces, without taking an extra hand to hold lighting.
Overall, it's worth the price to have this in the toolbox.

Super bright headlamp

This headlamp is on the heavier side but is comfortable when worn. It comes with a rechargeable battery and the lamp can be plugged in with the included usbc cord and charged without removing the battery.
The battery is a size between AA and C, I've seen it used in other high power flashlights before.
It has multiple brightness settings with a flood light, spot light, or sos signal options.
It does get warm to the touch when using the higher brightness settings though.

Super Leuchtkraft, Schwerpunkt vorne

Ein Akkufach hinten wäre optimal.
Aufgrund der Technik hängt vorne an der Stirn gefühlt ein Klotz.
Es gibt bessere Lösungen.

Ansonsten TOP

Best Value in a Headlamp you will find

It's a great headlamp/flashlight and the sum of it's parts cost far more than what you get in this combo.

Smaller version, just as impressive.

I have had the next size up from this for a few years and it has performed faithfully and perfectly. I use them mounted to bike handlebars. I can just pick up the magnetic charger cable and no fuss attach it quickly. Because of the mag charger system and the rest of how its built it is more durable and waterproof than any bike light i have ever used or even seen. Thats why i prefer it for my bikes.

29€ ben spesi

Good for the money

The product works great. But the battery life isn't the best. And the magnet on the charging port barely works. So charging it is frustrating at times.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a genuine product with a valid warranty?

Yes. We are an authorized dealer for Klarus and TrustFire, so every light we ship is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty, handled by us. Flashlights bought through unauthorized or grey-market sellers are usually not covered.

How fast do you ship, and what does it cost?

Orders placed on business days leave our Port Charlotte, Florida warehouse within 24 hours. Shipping is free on US orders over $49. We hold our own stock, so if the site shows it in stock, it is on a shelf here.

What is your return policy?

Returns are accepted within 30 days through a simple return process. See our refund policy for full details, or email us first if you are unsure whether a light is the right one and we will help you decide before you buy.

How many lumens do I actually need?

More than most people expect to hear: usually fewer than you think. 200 to 500 lumens covers everyday tasks, 500 to 1,500 covers work and duty use, and above that you are buying reach rather than usable working light. Runtime drops sharply at maximum output on every light ever made.

What is the difference between lumens and beam distance?

Lumens measure total light output. Candela measures beam intensity, and that is what determines how far a light throws. A tightly focused 1,000-lumen thrower will out-distance a 3,000-lumen floodlight, which is why reflector design matters as much as the headline number.

Which battery does it take, and do you sell spares?

Most of our lights use a built-in or removable lithium-ion cell such as a 14500, 16340, 18650, 21700 or 26650. The size is listed in the product specifications. We stock protected cells in all of those sizes plus a multi-chemistry charger, so you can keep a charged spare ready.

Can you help me choose between two models?

Yes, and we would rather do that than have you return something. Email Customersupport@brightlightled.shop or call 941-273-3209, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm EST, with the two models and how you plan to use the light.
