TrustFire MINIX UV Keychain Flashlight

Serious Output in a Pocket-Sized Body

The MINIX UV packs more capability into a keychain-sized body than most keychain lights two or three times its size. 320 lumens is genuinely useful — bright enough for outdoor tasks, finding things at distance, or signaling. UV adds inspection capability for counterfeits, leaks, and pet stains.

Two Light Functions in One

  • 320-lumen white beam — main light for everyday use
  • UV light — counterfeit currency, pet stains, leak detection
  • Battery indicator — know when to charge
  • Lockout mode — prevents accidental activation in pocket

USB-C Rechargeable

USB-C charging from any standard cable. Built-in battery delivers consistent runtime and fast recharging.

Five Color Options

Available in Black, Blue, Purple, Gray, and Light Blue — pick one for yourself, then grab a few more for gifts.

Built for Real Daily Use

Aluminum body, hard-anodized finish, water-resistant construction. Engineered to handle keychain abuse without losing function.

Who the MINIX UV Is For

The MINIX UV is for users who want more than basic keychain-light capability — bartenders checking IDs, parents finding pet messes, contractors inspecting work, EDC enthusiasts who want UV plus white in one tiny package. Also a knockout gift in any of its color options.

Backed by TrustFire's manufacturer warranty and our simple 30-day return policy.

Customers praise this compact, multifunctional flashlight for its bright illumination up to 1200 lumens, versatile UV light and laser pointer modes, and durable construction. "Battery life is phenomenal!" said one officer. Most love the magnetic base and rechargeable design. However, some report concerns about battery life, UI complexity requiring long-press operation, and clip durability issues.

Good but not great

The design of the switch on the side could be better

Nice and bright, Slow power off button, dont lose it!

Works well, is nice and bright on the last two modes, and charges fast. Battery life is pretty short and turning the unit on and off is a bit slow.

Otherwise its a good flashlight that is easy to lose so be careful where you put it.

Excellent Multifunctional Compact Light

The TrustFire Mini X3-SE is a compact and versatile everyday carry (EDC) flashlight that combines multiple lighting functions into a single, portable device. Designed for users who require diverse illumination options, this flashlight integrates white light, UV light, and a red beam, making it suitable for various applications.

Design and Build

Crafted from durable aluminum alloy, the Mini X3-SE boasts a flat, rectangular shape that enhances portability and grip. Its magnetic base and sturdy metal clip allow for hands-free operation by attaching to metal surfaces or clipping onto belts, hats, or tents. The flashlight is IPX6-rated, ensuring resistance to water and making it reliable in adverse weather conditions.

Lighting Modes

White Light: The primary LED delivers up to 1,200 lumens of bright white light, providing clear visibility for tasks such as camping, hiking, or everyday activities.

Red Beam: Useful for presentations or signaling in low-light environments, the red beam operates at a safe output level, ensuring it is harmless to humans and animals.

UV Light: With a 900mW output, the UV light is effective for detecting stains, inspecting currency, or exploring fluorescent materials, adding a layer of utility for forensic or investigative purposes.

Performance

The Mini X3-SE features mode memory, recalling the last used setting upon activation. However, some users have noted that this can lead to unpredictability in the output mode when turning the flashlight on, as it may not default to the lowest setting. Additionally, accessing the UV light requires holding down the switch, which can result in a brief activation of the white light before the UV mode engages.

Battery and Charging

Equipped with a built-in 1,500mAh battery, the Mini X3-SE supports USB-C charging. Charging is straightforward: connect the flashlight using the supplied USB-C cable, and the main switch’s battery indicator will display the charging status. The flashlight does not function as a power bank, and specific details about the battery’s chemistry are not provided by the manufacturer. Manufacturer claims it with run on highest output mode for 122 minutes. I have not verified this.

Conclusion

The TrustFire Mini X3-SE stands out as a multifunctional EDC flashlight suitable for a variety of tasks, from everyday use to specialized applications requiring UV illumination or red beam signaling. Its robust construction, multiple lighting options, and thoughtful design features like the magnetic base make it a valuable tool for those seeking versatility in a compact form. Potential users should be aware of the mode memory function and the operational nuances associated with accessing different lights. A one star hit for the clunky on/off mechanism that takes some practice.

Surprisingly bright and versatile

This little flashlight really packs a punch for its size. The white light is super bright and easily lights up dark spaces when I need it. I like having the UV and red light options too, especially for checking around the house or using at night without blinding myself. The rechargeable battery lasts longer than I expected and charges up pretty fast. It feels solid in the hand but still fits easily in my pocket or bag. The multiple light modes make it super handy for different situations. Definitely a great little tool to have for emergencies or everyday use.

It's cool. Highest brightness is overpowering. Every function works well. No complaints.

Beautiful color, great features

Very nice flashlight. I have a few trustfire miniX3's and this is my first SE model. The only difference I can see between the SE and the non SE is this doesn't have a flood light. Everything else is the same. Deep pocket clip, multi brightness main light, red laser pointer, UV light and a tail magnet. It functions the same with a main button to power on/off the device and set the light level for the main LED and a slider on the side to select the LED light, red laser pointer or UV. For each mode you have to hold the button down to power on/off. There are no extra button presses needed for the UV or laser pointer, but there are multiple modes for the main light. There are 4 modes from very dim to very bright. It will remember which mode you had it on last and power up to that mode so if you keep it on the highest level it will always power on to that level, unless the battery is too low then it will drop to a lower brightness. I love the color, and it even comes with a small USB cable with blue ends on it. If you're looking for a good quality flashlight and don't need the flood light this is an excellent choice, and if you want UV and a laser pointer, it's got that too and they work just fine.

A very nice pocket light with multiple functions.

This is a pretty nice pocket flashlight. Reasonable size for pocket, lots of EDC advertised lights seem just way too heavy for normal pocket carry. This one includes a very nice belt clip. It has nice rounded corners and a good feel in the hand. I got the blue which has a very nice look to it. It is easy to find the on-off switch by feel alone. User interface is easy to understand. Beam color is a nice neutral white. It has a couple of minor things that could be improved. At this price range, I think a filter over the ultraviolet LED should be included. This reduces the visible light considerably. It does have the desirable 365 nanometer range. I personally dislike the user interface that requires a long press to turn on and a long pass to turn off. I find them annoying as I use several different flashlights and that's not the usual. The laser pointer works about as expected. The mode switch is intuitive, easy to use with one hand and has a satisfying firm detailed setting. All appears to be very high quality.

Great pocket flashlight

I have this light’s bigger brother, X7. X3 is smaller by a lot, it is a true pocket light. Love their stainless clip, which is double sided, allowing you to carry it tip up or down. The clip is beefy, and has just the right amount of springiness to it.
The light item is all metal, no plastic parts. The only non metal parts are the on/off button, the charging port cover and the front crystal.
The battery is not end user replaceable, there are 2 screws holding the end cover in place, im assuming you could technically get to it, i haven’t tried. The side switch is clicky and tactile, you know its been moved, and its not moving on its own.
There are 3 modes: light, with 2 brightness modes, UV light and a red laser, all switched by the side switch. The actual on and off operation is done by the rubber button on the flat side. Long press to turn the flashlight on and off, and short press to switch brightness modes.
Its definitely not as bright and powerful as the X7, but obviously its not trying to be. Its a great little light i carry with ne everywhere, just in case i need some light. In complete darkness it provides enough light for most of the tasks you would need to do, or to get out of the area. No complaints, and im becoming a fan of the brand with these 2 lights. I really have no ise for UV light, but it comes with it, so be it. My cats and the dog love the laser though.
This model doesn’t have a display, which i understand why. I do wish it had a battery indicator, to see how much juice i have left

Mini Flashlight/UV/Laser Pointer

This is a versatile little light, having modes for laser pointer, UV light, and 1200 lumen LED flashlight.

I actually use it as a flashlight, and I like the small format and powerful illumination.

There is a circular on/off button and a slider switch for mode. The on/off button cycles between intensities.

It's IPX6 waterproof and shatter-resistant, giving you ease of mind if it rains or if it gets dropped.

The base is a powerful magnet, and the battery life seems as good as expected. I love that it is rechargeable.

Overall, this is a lot of functionality in a little package. It comes with a user manual and USB charging cable. Mine cane almost 100% charged. Recommended!

Versatile flashlight with multiple functions

This flashlight does a variety of things, including it as a laser pointer and a UV illuminator as well as of course a standard flashlight with multiple strengths of light. It is ultra rugged and is a quality piece of equipment that you should take care of. Be sure to keep the instructions because it has a lot of different functions. It is rechargeable with a long battery life and appears to be nearly indestructible. It's a compact size and easy to use once you read the directions. It also has a strong magnet that makes it convenient to play somewhere to provide light without holding it in your hand

It's small, it's powerful, and it's multi-purpose!

I've got a pretty good flashlight collection going at this point, and this one is probably one of my favorites so far. The size is perfect to just drop in your pocket and keep with you, as it's not big enough to really be worried about if you want to pack it around. As well. at full power, you can count on this being able to light up whatever you need to see, be it in the dark at night, or just in a heavily shaded spot under a car in otherwise broad daylight. The magnet on the bottom comes in handy when you need to find somewhere to stick the light down, or up, which is a nice feature. As well, the additional modes of a UV blacklight and a laser pointer really add to the overall versatility this flashlight, and let this one device do the job of a few different tools. Overall, the combined features of this flashlight make it highly functional as the only flashlight you'd really need to keep handy, and a great value for someone who may otherwise need to purchase separate regular and UV lights for different tasks such as using with leak detection dye. The laser pointer also doubles as an excellent cat entertainment device when the need arises. ;)

TrustFire made a good one with this X3 mini. If you want a small, easily portable daily carry flashlight, this one fits the bill quite well.

Nice design, but UI a little too different/annoying

Nicely made on the hardware side, but the UI stinks. You have to hold the button for half a second to turn any of the emitters on, and hold again for off. Clicking the button while on cycles through modes. The laser has one mode, which is sensible. The UV has useless blinky modes and the white light has a few brightness levels. There are no shortcuts to the different brightness levels.

These guys know how to manufacture a nice light, but whoever designed the UI really dropped the ball. Hold for on is annoying, and no shortcuts to different brightness levels on an e-switch light is a big miss.

If you can get used to the UI or it sounds fine to you, this light is actually quite good. The sliding switch to choose your emitter works well and feels very good. This could have been a great light, easy five stars, permanently in my pocket, but with this UI it's basically a loss.

Don't let the price fool you, it's worth way more than the price!!

Battery life is phenomenal! I'm a police officer and I use it regularly when searching cars it's more than bright enough for searching under seats, and in all the cracks and crevices.
I have made use of the clip to my hat, it works well.
My partner carries the Light arkfeld, he spent more twice the $$, he said he wished he of found the TrustFire Mini when he was looking for this type of light.
Would whole heartedly recommend this light for anyone needing a compact, super bright, EDC light. Oh, the UV light and laser come in very handy as well.

Good Flashlight, Bad Clip

Overall, I like the flashlight, it has become my EDC. However, the clip easily got bent out from use. I tried unscrewing the clip and taking it off to bend it back, but the screws are so small and poor quality that they just stripped and the clip is stuck on now. Have to keep it in a pocket.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a genuine product with a valid warranty?

Yes. We are an authorized dealer for Klarus and TrustFire, so every light we ship is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty, handled by us. Flashlights bought through unauthorized or grey-market sellers are usually not covered.

How fast do you ship, and what does it cost?

Orders placed on business days leave our Port Charlotte, Florida warehouse within 24 hours. Shipping is free on US orders over $49. We hold our own stock, so if the site shows it in stock, it is on a shelf here.

What is your return policy?

Returns are accepted within 30 days through a simple return process. See our refund policy for full details, or email us first if you are unsure whether a light is the right one and we will help you decide before you buy.

How many lumens do I actually need?

More than most people expect to hear: usually fewer than you think. 200 to 500 lumens covers everyday tasks, 500 to 1,500 covers work and duty use, and above that you are buying reach rather than usable working light. Runtime drops sharply at maximum output on every light ever made.

What is the difference between lumens and beam distance?

Lumens measure total light output. Candela measures beam intensity, and that is what determines how far a light throws. A tightly focused 1,000-lumen thrower will out-distance a 3,000-lumen floodlight, which is why reflector design matters as much as the headline number.

Which battery does it take, and do you sell spares?

Most of our lights use a built-in or removable lithium-ion cell such as a 14500, 16340, 18650, 21700 or 26650. The size is listed in the product specifications. We stock protected cells in all of those sizes plus a multi-chemistry charger, so you can keep a charged spare ready.

Can you help me choose between two models?

Yes, and we would rather do that than have you return something. Email Customersupport@brightlightled.shop or call 941-273-3209, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm EST, with the two models and how you plan to use the light.
