Klarus Mi2 EDC Keychain Flashlight

Ultra-Compact Everyday Carry Light

The Mi2 delivers practical everyday lighting in a body so small it disappears on a keychain. 40 lumens is plenty for finding a keyhole, reading a menu, walking the dog, or any of the dozens of small dark-place tasks that come up daily.

Two Modes for Practical Use

  • Low — easy on the eyes for close-up tasks and night use
  • High — full output for finding things in the dark or signaling
  • Direct-to-low access — won't blast you in the eyes when you click it on at night

USB Rechargeable

Forget battery shopping. USB charging from any standard cable means it's always ready. Charges fast, holds charge for weeks, and can even run while plugged in if you ever need extended runtime.

Three Color Options

Available in Obsidian Black, Jazz Blue, and Energy Orange — pick the one that matches your keys or your style.

Built for Real Daily Use

Aluminum body, hard-anodized finish, IPX4 water resistance. It's the light you'll actually carry every day because it doesn't weigh anything, doesn't take up space, and stays out of the way until you tap the button.

Who the Mi2 Is For

The Mi2 is for everyone — whether you're already an EDC enthusiast or have just realized that pulling out your phone for a flashlight is a terrible workflow. Also a perfect, useful gift that gets used daily — flight attendants, dog walkers, parents, contractors all love it.

Backed by Klarus's manufacturer warranty and our simple 30-day return policy.

Compact rechargeable keychain flashlight praised for brightness and portability. Customers said it's "perfect for late night trips" with dual brightness settings (0.5-40 lumens). Popular with nurses and night shift workers. Charges quickly via USB. Some reported accidental activation in pockets and battery degradation after 6-12 months. A few noted durability issues with solder joints or charging failures.

So far so good on Klarus Keychain flashlight

This little flashlight seems like a keeper, so far. It comes in nearly impossible to open packaging with a short micro-USB cord for charging. The flashlight worked immediately and has been fully charged. I know that because when you plug the flashlight in, a red light turns on. When fully charged, the light turns blue. It operates with a simple button push to turn it on. It takes an intentional push to turn it on, so I don't anticipate accidental engagement. If you push the power button again right away, it switches modes to it's highest level of light. If you push the button again, it turns off. Pretty simple. I also discovered that when the light is on its lowest setting, if you push and hold the power button, the light will gradually increase to the highest level, so you have real flexibility in the output level of the light.

The design is similar to the Nitecore Tube, which I have had on my keychain for a couple of years. The tube is a little smaller and has been reliable for me. I'm looking forward to comparing the two over the next couple of weeks. In any case, the Klarus Mi2 looks like a great purchase so far.

Equivalent to Nitecore Tube - More Than Good Enough

After losing my beloved Nitecore TIP SS Stainless Steel Edition 360 Lumen light after only a month I decided I couldn't trust myself with a $45 replacement. So I decided to try this.

It's a perfectly fine little light but at its brightest doesn't quite equal my cell phone (I was wrong - see edit below). To be honest I'd recommend the Finware 5 Pack Mini LED Keychain Flashlight as a better value.

Edit 09/18/2019: Having carried this light for a while I have to revise my estimate to 5 stars. The maximum brightness is at least double my cell phone in the 2-click High mode (user error!). I like the UI now that I'm used to it.

Also, it can be on while charging so you could connect it to a power bank and extend the On time indefinitely. A flexibility not possible with the Finware lights.

Great dog leash light

I wanted a light, compact, durable flash light to keep with my dog leash now that the days are getting shorter and it makes it easier to pick up poop at night. This flash light is bright and easy to use. I prefer having the button over a twist like most compact keychain flash lights on Amazon use. The dual brightness levels are a plus as well, I can leave it on the lower brightness so me and the dogs can be seen when walking then turn it up when it's time to get out a poop bag. Just received it so can't rate durability yet but will update review as needed.

Seriously the best light for your money.

My work demands a variable output, high intensity small flashlight on a daily basis. I have bought several of those high dollar ones. They all have failed within weeks, if not sooner. They seem more interested in touting how good they are, but don't actually put it to real use. It's all great when you use it once in awhile and it seems bright.
This little gem however, outperforms them everywhere. From price to size to productivity. Just a nice touch...the light never hard turns on or off..it always has a quick fade to it. Your eyes will love that. I have only charged it once since buying it and it still is bright. I use it everyday. Buy this light.

Need more colours..

This is my first torch by Klarus but, it won't be my last. Good price. Lightweight and sturdy build. The low setting is perfect for late night trips to the bathroom without stepping on my cat. I would definitely buy this again. I saw more colours available on another site- at a higher price.

Night nurse approved

I am a night nurse, and I needed a nice little keychain flashlight to throw on my badge. It helps me sneak into patients rooms and not disturb them. I love that it is rechargeable. I keep the charger at work, and I've only had to charge it once. There are two settings, and even the lowest setting is bright. I've already recommended it to my teammates!

Small lightweight flashlight that packs a punch!

I love this key chain flashlight! Even though I gave it 5 stars, I'd give it 4 1/2 stars if possible.

Pros: Small, lightweight, two modes, bright, affordable, micro USB rechargeable, quiet (doesn't rattle with my keys).

Cons: My only con, and the reason I took off half a star, was because the flashlight comes on at times while in my pocket. If it had a power lock, that would bring it back up to 5 stars for me. However, with the USB recharge capability this isn't much of a problem.

I use this flashlight for minor tasks. It stays on my key ring. I haven't got to test whether it's "waterproof" or not, nor would I want to. It's still nice to know if it does get wet while in the rain it'll hold up!

Good light, no batteries!

This is one of the better keychain lights I have bought. It's very compact, slim, easy to use. The multiple settings for brightness is very effective. I use the low setting generally as it saves recharging and the brighter setting when I need more light. I would definitely buy this again.

good close up light

It is a nice size for a keychain, but not very bright.. It will work well for close up 2-3 ft, but beyond that it doesn't help. But for the price it was fine. I bought a surefire, which was quite a bit more expensive, but does a better job.

Perfect for keychains and a great value.

This is about the same brightness that you get with a phone light but it's compact and very easy to access.
I use it on my night walks with my dogs and it's way less cumbersome than most flashlights.
On high, I get about an hours use.
Quick recharge and I'm out the door again.
Great value.

It's OK

The light is well made and plenty bright enough for the purpose it serves. The light has come on while in my pocket (on a key ring with 3 or 4 keys) several times. A big improvement IMO would be a long press or double tap to turn it on. The on button is just ok and could be a little more tactile.

Does the job!

This is just what I was looking for, to carry on my after-work walk from office to car in the pitch dark. It's light as a feather and sufficiently bright. Yes, once or twice it's turned itself on while in my pocket, and that would be a nice thing to fix in a redesign. But (so far) it hasn't run the battery down. Thumbs up!

Very happy. Should have bought this sooner. But be careful when opening the charging port.

For a long time I had one of the small round ones which turn on with a twist of the head.
The LED got unscrewed and lost somewhere.

This one fits really flat between the other keys. So really a much better solution. And the USB charging allows me to re-charge while driving. So that is good.

It came fully charged. I did a full cycle discharge re-charge. It worked about 1.5 hr on high.

Things to know:
That "continuous, infinite" adjustment of intensity is BS. The speed from lowest to highest is about a 1.5 sec - if you can figure this one out ... you do not need a flashlight - you are a robot already :)

This is NOT a negative. I do not need anything more than Low and High.
Just wanted to mention it as it seems a marketing gimmick.

The charging port is well protected bu a silicone cover.

CAREFUL!

When you try to remove the cover open it from the side of the LED.
This cover fits real snug and you are not sure - should you pull more or should you switch the side you are pulling from.

If you pull from the opposite end you might tear off the stem that holds the cover.

It does come with a charging cable - but for a normal use you are going to need it so rarely - you better remember where you put the cable :)

Clicky Useful

I've own various little flashlights that vary in brightness and that you can clip in your pant's pocket. However, this little thing just works. It has its own battery that can be charged by any micro USB and it's light enough to hold with your car keys. I bought the Orange version so I can readily find it. It has a two click feature, where the light starts off and a moon level brightness and then gets brighter. I figure it's a great purchase as we head over to October, where the day gets shorter. I think it's 'Clicky Useful'!

Nice little thing

I actually bought it to illuminate my tent to get in and get out. It's not bright enough to read by it, but perfect to show you a door and around a tent. I wanted something that I can leave attached and pack the tent with it inside. It's tiny. I wish it was just a tad bigger so it could hold a larger battery and last longer. Lasts about an hour on high, so plenty of time for a weekend of use.

Quite bright

This is one of the best find-the-poop flashlights available for dog walkers. Very lightweight, fits nicely on a keychain, and recharges easily and quickly.

Works well so far. Like the small size and rechargeability.

Works well so far. Easy to use. 7 year old figured it out quickly and will have it on a lanyard. Nice and small.

Great flashlight

I love it! I actually lost it for a while though since it IS so small and ended up buying two more. Only to later find it. So now I have three! No regrets

Good, not perfect

I got this for my wife to get to the bathroom at night. The button is too hard for her fingers and she can't get the quick punch to start it on dim. It ramps far too quickly to bright. After several months of use, she still struggles to start it dim. I still give it four stars, because it is of decent quality and good brightness for a keychain light. Most people will operate it fine.

Exactly the smaller size I needed.

All the other rechargeable keychain lights would make my keychain too heavy. I wanted something small and lightweight.

I was worried if the light wouldn't be powerful enough since it's so small, but it's actually great for its size.
Very satisfied.

Nice keychian flashlight

Have only had the light for a few weeks, so long term we will have to see, but so far it has held a charge and has a very bright light.

So bright and little and rechargable!

I have been using this light at work as a nurse because it has two brightness settings appropriate for looking in eyes and mouths. I didn't realize it was rechargeable and I came here looking for a replacement battery. I am so relieved I can just recharge it on the same line as my phone.

I got this for my secret Santa, he asked for a light. I also have one. It's so light is doesn't pull on my badge.
I work nights and it's so perfect to just look in on my patient or check an IV. Very much recommend this. Plus it's rechargeable is the bees knees!

Great Price for a very Bright Light

5/21 - I like to be able to recharge the internal battery via USB rather than having to struggle to open and REPLACE expensive coin-size batteries.
12/23 Update: It lasted 2-1/2 YEARS before the switch got too hard to activate. The light is still as bright as ever.

Quality product - good size for keychain

Great design. The bulb extends out so it’s sort like a lamp. Don’t have to point it at a key hole to see it. Just get it close to what you want to see and you can see it without pointing it. Good battery life and brightness.

All night shift RN’s need one!!

I’m a nurse working the night shift! This is perfect for “tasks” at night without waking the patient! I put it on my badge reel and it works great! Leaves both hands free for setting up IV pumps or taking vital signs! Highly recommend!

Frequently asked questions

Is this a genuine product with a valid warranty?

Yes. We are an authorized dealer for Klarus and TrustFire, so every light we ship is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty, handled by us. Flashlights bought through unauthorized or grey-market sellers are usually not covered.

How fast do you ship, and what does it cost?

Orders placed on business days leave our Port Charlotte, Florida warehouse within 24 hours. Shipping is free on US orders over $49. We hold our own stock, so if the site shows it in stock, it is on a shelf here.

What is your return policy?

Returns are accepted within 30 days through a simple return process. See our refund policy for full details, or email us first if you are unsure whether a light is the right one and we will help you decide before you buy.

How many lumens do I actually need?

More than most people expect to hear: usually fewer than you think. 200 to 500 lumens covers everyday tasks, 500 to 1,500 covers work and duty use, and above that you are buying reach rather than usable working light. Runtime drops sharply at maximum output on every light ever made.

What is the difference between lumens and beam distance?

Lumens measure total light output. Candela measures beam intensity, and that is what determines how far a light throws. A tightly focused 1,000-lumen thrower will out-distance a 3,000-lumen floodlight, which is why reflector design matters as much as the headline number.

Which battery does it take, and do you sell spares?

Most of our lights use a built-in or removable lithium-ion cell such as a 14500, 16340, 18650, 21700 or 26650. The size is listed in the product specifications. We stock protected cells in all of those sizes plus a multi-chemistry charger, so you can keep a charged spare ready.

Can you help me choose between two models?

Yes, and we would rather do that than have you return something. Email Customersupport@brightlightled.shop or call 941-273-3209, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm EST, with the two models and how you plan to use the light.
