Which flashlights fit the AH3?
Fit is determined by the diameter of the flashlight's body tube, not its brand. The AH3 is designed for round lights with a 23 to 27mm body. That covers many compact 18650 and 21700 tactical lights, including Klarus models such as the XT11R and G15. It is not designed for flat flashlights.
How to measure your flashlight
Measure the body just below the head with calipers. No calipers? Wrap a strip of paper around the body, mark where it overlaps, and measure the length in millimeters. Divide by 3.14 to get the diameter. If the result is between 23 and 27, it should fit.
Key features
Rapid deployment
The open-top clamp design lets you draw the light in one motion without unsnapping a flap, which is the main reason to choose a hard holster over a pouch.
Secure retention
Klarus uses a triple-reinforced design — a clip, reinforced C-shaped retaining rings and a wrap-around shell — to keep the light in place while you run, climb or kneel.
360-degree rotation
The holster rotates to 12 positions, so you can set the angle for your belt, duty rig or seated position in a vehicle, then leave it there.
One-motion detach
The holster unclips from its belt mount quickly, so you can move it between a duty belt, a work belt and a pack.
Durable materials
The DuPont Zytel shell resists wear and corrosion and is rated to work from -40°F to 248°F, so it will not go brittle in the cold or soft in a hot vehicle.
AH3 vs AH1: hard holster or nylon pouch?
The Klarus AH1 is a nylon holster with a belt loop for $15. A nylon pouch is lighter, quieter and fits a wider range of shapes. The AH3's hard shell is faster to draw from and holds the light more securely during movement. If speed of access matters — duty, security or work you do in the dark — choose the AH3. For occasional carry, the AH1 is enough.
Who the AH3 is for
- Law enforcement and security who need a light on the belt, ready in one motion
- EMS, fire and search and rescue working in low light
- Contractors, electricians and mechanics who move between dark spaces all day
- Hunters and outdoor users who want a light on the belt instead of in a pack
